I'm Patrick. I live south of campus in Bozeman, Montana with my wife Adrienne, our two kids, a fixer-upper house, a flower farm, eight fourteen chickens, and three dogs. We're not going anywhere. This is home.
Adrienne and I met in college at MSU and never left. She teaches kindergarten at Longfellow (you might know her as Miss Petch or Mrs. Zimny), and education runs deep on both sides of our family; my mom teaches in Billings too. Between the two of them, I've spent my whole life watching teachers do the invisible work: the late nights, the creativity, the showing up every single day.
By day I work remotely as a security manager in tech, after years at a few local Bozeman tech firms. Compliance, budgets, building teams, making sure things run responsibly and transparently. I also build small tools on the side, collected at tools.patrickzimny.com.
This site is where I write up what catches my eye. Some weeks that's Bozeman School District 7. I ran for the school board in 2026, and while I didn't win, I kept digging. I'm running again in 2027. School board is one thread here, not the whole site.
